This article analyzes the theoretical foundations, stages of formation, and modern development trends of economic integration in Central Asia. The essence of regional economic integration, its main theories — classical trade theory, customs union theory, the concept of "new regionalism" and approaches to economic interdependence — are considered. The development of trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the role of cooperation in the transport and logistics, energy, water resources, and investment sectors in integration processes, will also be highlighted.
