This article focuses on the semantic, structural, functional, and linguostylistic features of metaphors, as well as their functions increating artistic imagery, expressing evaluation, and enhancing emotional and expressive effects in literary texts. Through acomparative analysis of English and Uzbek prose texts, the common and distinctive features of metaphors in both languages areidentified, and their artistic and aesthetic potential is revealed
