The article examines the socio-pedagogical mechanism for developing the professional competencies of future economists from both theoretical and practical perspectives. It analyzes the requirements placed on economics professionals in the context of technological changes in the labor market, digitalization, and the development of artificial intelligence. The institutional, pedagogical, social, and practical components of professional competency development are substantiated, and practical recommendations for Uzbekistan’s higher education system are proposed.
