This article examines the current state of crime related to gambling and games of chance, its new forms in the digital environment, and the criminological determinants that produce and sustain it. The main determinants include high latency, cross-border platforms, instant electronic payments, aggressive digital promotion, economic pressure, the motivation of easy income, gambling disorder, weak family supervision, and gaps in interagency information exchange. The article concludes that effective prevention requires licensing supervision to be combined with criminological monitoring, financial and digital safeguards, early identification of vulnerable persons, and targeted prevention.
