This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the multifaceted scholarly contribution of Academician Abdulahad Rahimjonovich Muhammadjonov to the study of the history of the Bukhara oasis — his foundational research on the history of irrigation, archaeological expeditions, toponymic views, and organizational and pedagogical activities. It determines the place of the scholar's legacy in modern Uzbek historiography, identifies sourcecritical problems that lead to his conflation with other historians of Bukhara (notably F. Qosimov),and proposes concrete promising directions for future research. The findings show that Muhammadjonov's legacy constitutes a still incompletely systematized, multifaceted, and promising field of research.
