This article presents a comparative analysis of the category of verbal voice in Uzbek and Turkish based on prototype theory in cognitive linguistics and contemporary corpus data. Drawing on the scholarly views of Academician Azim Hojiyev on Uzbek morphology and its word-formation system, the study examines the properties of voice affixes as form-building (inflectional) and word-forming (derivational) units along a cognitive continuum. For the first time, comparative statistical methods are employed to investigate the frequency distribution of verbal voice categories in the national corpora of both languages and their distribution across functional styles.
