Cohesion mechanisms in language are fundamental tools that ensure the structural and semantic integrity of sentences in both oral and written speech acts. Understanding how inter-sentential connections are established within a text is essential for identifying the functional possibilities of language and strategies for textual coherence. Converbs represent one of the most frequently utilized categories in this process. The primary objective of this research is to determine the cohesive functions of converbs within prose texts, specifically focusing on their substitutive role within the predicate—one of the principal parts of the sentence—and how this function influences the expression of various semantic nuances.
