This article explores the intricate relationship between gradation and intensification, two pervasive linguistic phenomena that contribute significantly to the expressive potential of human language. Gradation, the process of representing degrees of a quality or state, and intensification, the act of strengthening the force or impact of an expression, are shown to be closely intertwined. The article examines the theoretical underpinnings of both phenomena, their realization across various linguistic levels (phonological, morphological, syntactic, and semantic), and the ways in which they interact to shape meaning and communicative effect.
