A Comparative Linguocultural Analysis of Phraseological Units Representing the Human Image in English and Uzbek

Annotatsiya

This article presents a comparative linguocultural analysis of phraseological units representing the human image in English and Uzbek. The study focuses on phraseological units expressing positive, negative, and neutral characteristics of a person and identifies their semantic and evaluative features. Particular attention is paid to somatic phraseological units containing body-part components, metaphorical representations, and nationally specific cultural elements. The similarities and differences between English and Uzbek phraseological units are examined through comparative analysis. The findings demonstrate that phraseological units not only characterize a person’s personality, behavior, moral qualities, and psychological states but also reflect the national worldview, cultural values, and collective experience of a particular linguistic community.
