Мотивация к изучению английского языка у старшеклассников: теоретико- методологические основы, факторы и педагогические условия

Annotatsiya

This study examines the motivation of high school students to learn English as a multifactorial and hierarchi cally organized construct. Drawing on self-determination theory and the socio-educational model, the analysis reveals intrinsic and extrinsic drivers of engagement, including integrative and instrumental orientations. It identifies the complex interplay of contextual factors: school policy, family support, teacher practices, and peer relationships. The satisfaction of basic psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness serves as a prerequisite for the development of sustained motivation. The study examines the agerelated and personality characteristics of students, their selfesteem, emotional experiences, and orientation toward potential future selfimages. It analyzes the temporal structure of the moti vational process, in which shortterm learning goals are linked to longterm life objectives through strategies of selfregu lation and action control. Particular attention is paid to the role of the teacher and the organization of a motivating learning process in the classroom. The findings highlight the need to comprehensively consider both internal interests and external sociocultural conditions to foster active participation in language learning and the achievement of educational outcomes.
