The article discusses the annual training program for qualified handball players during the competition period, which consists of stages of general physical preparation, special physical preparation, and technical-tactical preparation. Each type of training is aimed at enhancing the defensive capabilities of the athletes. Through the structure of the mesocycle, prepared based on this model, the movements acquired by the athletes are gradually made more complex. This plays an important role in actively countering opponents at both individual and team levels, increasing territorial stability in defense, and applying synchronized tactical methods.
