The article discusses the procedures for withdrawal of land for public needs in exchange for compensation and conducts a comparative analysis of law of foreign countries. A general description of definition of harm caused is given by disclosing the concept of legal procedure for withdrawal of land plot for state needs, types of compensation paid in such cases, and procedure for their payment. Also, theoretical conclusions were made by studying and analyzing regulatory documents related to this area. As a result of the research, some proposals and recommendations were made to improve legislation governing the withdrawal of land plots for state needs and compensation for losses caused as a result.
