This article examines the economic content and significance of the reforms being implemented to increase theproduction capacity of food industry enterprises in the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the study, the theoretical foundationsof the development of the food industry, the scientific views of foreign and domestic scientists, and the institutional andeconomic reforms being implemented in the field were analyzed. The results of the analysis showed that attracting investments,modernization of production, introduction of digital technologies, strengthening the integration of agro-industry, and theimplementation of international quality standards are of great importance in increasing the production capacity of food industryenterprises. Based on the results of the study, scientifically based proposals and recommendations were developed to increasethe competitiveness of food industry enterprises, expand the level of deep processing of products, increase export volumes, andensure the sustainable development of the industry
