Mazkur tadqiqotda XIX asrning ikkinchi yarmi XX asr boshlarida O'rta Osiyo mintaqasida yashab faoliyat olib borgan Tatar va yahudiy fuqarolarining tarixi va ularning o'lkada olib borgan faoliyatiga oid maʼlumotlarning manbalarda yoritilishiga alohida eʼtibor berilgan. Manba va adabiyotlarda Turkiston, xususan, Buxoro, Samarqand va Fargʻona hududlarida yashagan tatar va yahudiy millatiga mansub boʻlgan fuqarolarning ijtimoiy-iqtisodiy va madaniy faoliyatiga oid boʻlgan maʼlumotlarni bir-biri bilan solishtirib tahlil qilishga harakat qilingan. Shuningdek ularning mintaqadagi iqtisodiy, ijtimoiy va madaniy faoliyati, yashash tarzi, ularning Imperiya va Turkiston hukumati bilan munosabatlarini oʻrganishga harakat qilingan.
