Restricted lexicon is an essential element of linguistic variation and literary expression. In French literary works,lexical units associated with particular social groups, professions, age categories, or specific cultural environments are frequentlyused to construct realistic narratives and represent social dynamics. This study analyzes the representation of restricted lexiconin French literature and examines its communicative, stylistic, and sociocultural functions. Based on a qualitative analysis ofselected French literary texts, the research shows that restricted vocabulary contributes to narrative authenticity, characterdifferentiation, and the representation of social realities. The findings indicate that such lexical units serve as important literarydevices that connect language with cultural identity and social experience
