Annotatsiya

The thymus functions as a central regulatory organ of the immune system, determining the efficiency of the cellular immune response through T-cell formation. Experimental loss of thymic function may affect the state of hematopoietic cells in the bone marrow. In this study, cytogenetic parameters of bone marrow cells were analyzed in outbred white rats under conditions of thymectomy. The results demonstrated that mitotic activity remained high in the control group, whereas a significant decrease in cellular proliferation was observed in thymectomized animals. These findings indicate that the thymus indirectly supports bone marrow cell renewal processes.
