Economic and social effectiveness of enhancing corporate governance processes based on ESG standards

This article analyzes the economic and social effectiveness of implementing ESG (Environmental, Social,Governance) standards in corporate governance processes. Within the scope of the study, using the example of jointstock companies in Uzbekistan, we examine the integration of ESG principles into practice and their impact on corporatefnancial results, investment attractiveness, and the level of social responsibility. The analysis shows that companiesadopting ESG standards experienced, on average, a 12–15% increase in equity (shareholder) value, a 10–12%improvement in energy efciency indicators, and a growing volume of investment directed to social projects. In parallel,transparency in corporate governance, accountability mechanisms, and sustainable development metrics also improved.The article sets out priority areas for improving corporate governance based on ESG standards, presents practical results,and offers recommendations for integrating ESG into national corporate policy.
