Annotatsiya

This article examines the systematic development of language acquisition in Uzbekistan following its independence in 1991, tracing the evolution from post-Soviet linguistic reorientation to contemporary educational reform initiatives. The study analyzes the sociolinguistic and educational policy transformations that have shaped the current language acquisition system, emphasizing the progressive improvement of strategic foreign language development. This article concludes that the improvement of Uzbekistan’s language acquisition system represents a dynamic process balancing national identity formation, linguistic diversity, and external engagement. The system’s trajectory is increasingly shaped by technology, international collaboration, and a holistic commitment to multilingual competence as a driver of socio-economic development. The research also emphasizes that Uzbekistan’s post-independence language policy has pursued a dual agenda: raising the functional status and prestige of Uzbek through institutional and legislative reform, while addressing the practical exigencies of a multilingual society and global integration.
