This article analyses the advantages of modern educational technologies such as virtual microscopy, digital slides, the "flipped classroom", blended learning and AR/VR in teaching histology at medical higher education institutions, their differences from traditional methods and the practical results of their use. On the basis of a literature review, it is shown that modern technologies increase student activity, consolidate knowledge and make it possible to use laboratory resources more effectively.
