This article examines the indices of phagocytic and antitoxic immunity in children with purulent surgical diseases of staphylococcal etiology. A study of 52 patients was carried out, including patients with staphylococcal destruction of the lungs, osteomyelitis, chronic pneumonia and peritonitis. The features of completed phagocytosis and of antitoxin levels were established, and the regularities of the immune response were revealed. It was found that a high level of completed phagocytosis may serve as a diagnostic and prognostic criterion in staphylococcal infections. The data obtained make it possible to clarify the pathogenesis and the immune mechanisms of purulent diseases in children.
