This article presents information on the clinical picture of tumours of the cardioesophageal region, on their diagnosis and on the effectiveness and shortcomings of modern surgical methods of treatment. The scientific investigations are made up of the diagnostic and the various surgical treatment tactics used for patients treated in the Department of Thoracoabdominal Oncosurgery of the State Institution "Republican Specialised Scientific and Practical Medical Centre of Surgery named after Academician V. Vokhidov".
