The diagnosis and treatment methods of tumours of the head of the pancreas and of tumour diseases of the distal parts of the duodenum and the common bile duct remain pressing problems even at the present time. As a result of the development of modern surgery, the design of new suturing devices, LigaSure devices and harmonic scalpels is of great importance.
