This paper examines the use of Total Physical Response (TPR) as an effective technique in language teaching.Developed by James J. Asher, TPR is a comprehension-based method that links language input with physical movement. The study outlines the theoretical background of TPR and demonstrates its practical application in the classroom.Emphasis is placed on listening comprehension prior to speaking, reducing learner anxiety, and improving vocabularyretention through kinesthetic learning. The paper highlights the benefits of TPR for beginner and young learners whilealso considering its adaptability for different age groups and proficiency levels. The findings suggest that TPR, whencombined with other instructional approaches, creates a supportive, engaging, and low-stress learning environment thatenhances language acquisition
