CLINICAL AND HEMODYNAMIC SIGNIFICANCE OF NOS3 (T-786C AND GLU298ASP) POLYMORPHISMS IN PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE AND TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS

Annotatsiya

This study investigated the effects of NOS3 gene polymorphisms T786C and Glu298Asp on vascular reactivity in patients with concurrent ischemic heart disease (IHD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). A total of 92 patients underwent genotyping via PCR and brachial artery duplex ultrasonography. Parameters measured included arterial diameters before and after reactive hyperemia, mean blood flow velocity, resistance and pulsatility indices, flow-mediated dilation, and vascular reactivity coefficient. Carriers ofT/C and Glu/Asp genotypes exhibited significantly reduced vascular responsiveness compared to homozygotes. These results underscore the pathogenic role of N0S3 polymorphisms in endothelial dysfunction among patients with IHD and T2DM.
