Uterine fibroids are one of the most common benign neoplastic processes in women of reproductive age. Despite progress in understanding the molecular mechanisms of the disease, the question of the influence of metabolic status and body composition on the development of fibroids remains controversial. In recent years, special attention has been paid to non-invasive methods for assessing body composition, among which bioimpedance measurement (BIM) occupies a leading place. This method allows you to quantify the fat, muscle, bone and water components of the body' and identify the relationship between energy metabolism, hormonal background and the growth of myomatous nodes. This review summarizes current data on the use of bioimpedance measurement in women with uterine fibroids, the characteristics of its parameters and their relationship to the pathogenesis of the disease.
