Annotatsiya

Atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (ARAS) represents a major contributor to renovascular hypertension and the progression of chronic kidney disease, particularly among elderly patients with systemic atherosclerosis. Doppler ultrasonography (DUS), as a non-invasive diagnostic tool, is essential for identifying and assessing hemodynamically significant renal artery narrowing. This review summarizes crucial Doppler-derived parameters—including peak systolic velocity (PSV), renal-aortic ratio (RAR), acceleration time (AT), and resistive index (RI)—that are utilized to evaluate atherosclerotic alterations in the renal arteries, along with their clinical implications as reported in recent studies.
