Annotatsiya

This article investigates the linguocultural peculiarities of phraseological units containing clothing components in English and Uzbek. Phraseological units reflect the cultural worldview, traditions, mentality, and historical experiences of a nation. Clothing- related phraseological expressions occupy a significant place in both English and Uzbek languages because clothes symbolize social status, morality, identity, and human behavior. The study applies comparative, descriptive, and linguocultural methods to analyze semantic, structural, and cultural features of phraseological units with clothing components. The research reveals both universal and culture-specific characteristics in English and Uzbek phraseology. While English phraseological units frequently emphasize individuality, social hierarchy, and emotional expression, Uzbek phraseological units often reflect collectivism, modesty, honor, and traditional ethics. The article concludes that phraseological units with clothing components serve as important linguistic tools for expressing national mentality and preserving cultural heritage.
