Annotatsiya

This article examines the role and significance of lexical transformations in the translation of English publicistic texts into Uzbek. The study focuses on translation techniques such as concretization, generalization, addition, omission, modulation, compression, and cultural adaptation. Special attention is given to newspaper discourse and the challenges of preserving semantic meaning, stylistic features, and communicative effect during translation. The research analyzes examples from English newspaper articles and their Uzbek translations, demonstrating how lexical transformations help achieve equivalence and adequacy between the two languages. The study concludes that lexical transformations are essential for effective intercultural communication and stylistically appropriate translation in modern media discourse.
