In this article, the study of theonyms in Uzbek linguistics, their semantic-functionalfeatures and problems in scientific interpretation are highlighted. Also, in the article, the study of theonymsthe main problems are terminological ambiguity, contradictions in categorization, and methodological issues.inadequate development of criteria - analysis of specific semantic ones as ways to solve themand contextual approaches are proposed.
