Annotatsiya

The article examines the artistic interpretations of the image of Amir Timur and his time in 20th-century Russian and Uzbek poetry. At the center of the analysis are the poems «Horde» and «Coal» by Ivan Buninand «Sohibqiron» by Muhammad Ali. Addressing the figure of the great commander allowed poets to expressvarious cultural-historical and philosophical accents. For this reason, Timur is seen as a symbol of the destructive power of history, whose fame over time grows and turns into a tragedy of peoples. For Muhammad Ali, onthe contrary, the image of Timur is connected with the idea of national pride, justice, and spiritual greatness.Comparative analysis reveals both common motives for understanding the past and differences due to nationaland aesthetic traditions. The image of Timur becomes a crossroads of cultures, where the philosophical understanding of history is combined with the search for national spiritual foundations.
