This article was created within the framework of onomastic research, the analysis was carried out on the basis of ethnonyms that are part of the Carnatic seed. A number of ethnonym etymologies have been studied and phonetically-phonologically distinct ones analyzed. Semantically, the existence or non-ex istence of change has been covered on the basis of historical sources and folk etymology.
