The essence and functions of language are of great importance in the development of style. The article shows the origin, meanings, and features of the use of the term style. The process of the emergence of colloquial, official-business, scientific, journalistic, and artistic speech styles is highlighted. The process of conversation, official affair, scientific, publicist, an emergence of the artistic speech styles are also indicated in the article. Ancient novels and inheritances of Uzbek language’s development from the history as well as some works of the great scholars and ancestors such as Makhmud Koshgariy and Yusuf Xos Xojib are analyzed in the lingo-stylistic way within the article.
