This article discusses a possible methodology for creating textbooks of a new generation on distance learning of German as a second foreign language and their models, including the methodology of creating textbooks, the functions of textbooks in the educational process, textbooks of a new generation. Textbooks were also mentioned for teaching German as a second language.
