The world economy is entering a transition period. All companies use online technologies to manipulate information. The speed of technological transformation is so fast that modern e-commerce is currently undergoing major changes in the economic environment and is affecting all industries. The Internet has expanded the scope of corporate activities. The large volume of business information available through the global network makes it easy to gather information across companies, divisions, customers, and various business units, and from an operational or strategic point of view, the virtual value chain of any company cannot be ignored. In this review article, we have discussed all aspects of e-commerce including the importance of e-commerce in the Indian market, contributing factors, benefits, challenges, and scope.
