Для устранения дефектов твердых тканей зубов оперативным путем необходимо их препарирование и формирование полости с последующим восстановлением анатомической формы зуба. Последнее может быть осуществлено пломбами из пломбировочных материалов (пломбирование, пластическая реставрация), вкладками (твердая реставрация, микропротезирование) или искусственными коронками. Пломба – это своеобразная зубная конструкция, изготовленная из пломбировочного материала, которым заполняют кариозную полость и восстанавливают как анатомическую форму, так и функциональную ценность коронки зуба.
