282 patients who have diagnosed with ischemic stroke (IS) in the basin of the inner carotid artery (medium severity) were examined in the early recovery phase. In 237 patients was detected venous cerebral dysfunction (VCD) in various degrees which correlated with the expression of cognitive impairment, decreased memory and emotional response. VCD was determined according to the results of the questionnaires, reoencephalography and duplex scanning. Inversely proportional relationship between the VCD severity and the velocity of blood flow in the extra and intracranial arteries has also been identified. The effect of venous protective drugs on the quality of life and rehabilitation of patients after IS in the presence of VCD was studied at the second stage. Positive results have been determined, which make it possible to recommend these medicines for use in clinical practice.
