Эпидемиологические исследования, проведенные в различных странах, показали, что заболевания периодонта являются самой распространенной стоматологической патологией, которая встречается у населения разных группах и с возрастом прогрессирует. К 40 годам заболевания пародонта различной степени тяжести поражают 98-100% населения [3]. Важная роль в развитии и прогрессировании воспалительно-дистрофических заболеваний пародонта принадлежит функциональной перегрузке опорного аппарата зубов и травматической окклюзии. которые невозможно устранить ни терапевтическими, ни хирургическими методами. Поэтому7 ортопедическое лечение является обязательным компонентом комплексной терапии хронического генерализованного пародонтита [5].
