The article presents the results of a review of the literature, which reflect current trends in scientific research to improve the organization of treatment of periodontal diseases. Based on the analysis of the literature, an idea was formulated about the somatogenic nature of periodontal pathology, the need for scientific substantiation and the development of practical aspects of organizing the treatment of periodontal diseases in somatic patients.
