In this article, the personality of Amir Temur and his legacy of statehood were analyzed from the perspective of modern historical thinking. The study examined the political environment of the fourteenth century, his rise to power, the process of building a centralized state, his military and political activity, diplomatic relations, and influence on the Timurid era. Different interpretations of Amir Temur’s image in historical sources were also comparatively reviewed. Based on the analysis of aspects of Amir Timur's legacy that are relevant to the modern understanding of statehood and national development, appropriate recommendations are offered regarding the prospects for historical research in this area.
