This article reveals the policy of the Soviet government in Uzbekistan in the 1920s and 1930s. Extensive information is provided about the goals and rationale for the unilateral implementation of industrialization. The reforms in agriculture and their essence are presented on the basis of evidence. New information is included about the changes in the lives of peasants as a result of the policies of collectivization and kulakization, the development of science, and the consequences of the policy of repression.
