This article analyzes the local history activities of cultural, educational and scientific institutions of the Karakalpak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (KASSR) in the 40-60s of the twentieth century. The author talks about measures aimed at improving and strengthening the study and research of cultural monuments located on the territory of Karakalpakstan, and also examines the most important problems that existed in this process. The results and role of local history activities of such scientists as T. Zhdanko, A. Morozova, N. Davkaraev, A. Baskakov, O. Kozhurov, K. Aimbetov, K. Maksetov are revealed in detail.
