The article is devoted to the study of historical sources related to the technology of Islamic bookmaking. The focus is on five historical sources in Arabic on Islamic bookmaking technology, which provide information on the methods and materials used in manuscripts of the 11th-17th centuries. Their historical significance, handwritten copies, publications, and research issues were discussed. Comments are also given on the historical value of the information given in the sources devoted to the technology of Islamic bookmaking.
