The article examines the demographic history of Uzbekistan and Central Asia from the end of the XIX th century and continuing until the end of the XX th century. It reveals the influence of demographic indicators, such as gender and age structure, as well as socio-economic factors, including education and employment of women on the fertility rate. It analyzes the data from the General Population Censuses, as well as changes in the demographic processes in the periods of civil war, World War II, and post-war years in Uzbekistan. For specialists and everyone interested in fertility issues.
