Annotatsiya

The article is considered the formation of the silk industry in Turkestan and Central Asia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. After the conquest of the region by the Russian Empire the colonial rulers sought to benefit from the development of silkworm breeding including the inflow of capital from foreign and local entrepreneurs (I. Aloizi, Evtikhidi, Alimkhodzha Yunusov, etc.).Furthermore the export of raw materials was established. Organizational and administrative changes were made in the field of silkworm breeding and the silk industry by the power of the councils and the first silkworm and silk-weaving enterprises were created in the republic at the beginning of the 20th century.
