This article is devoted to the history of charity of the world's leading religions and their foundations. Also in the article you can learn about the history of the creation of charitable societies of world religions in Central Asia and Turkestan. The number of believers in the late XIX and early XX centuries is studied. According to the population censuses of 1897 and 1911 on the territory of the Russian Empire. The authors studied such societies as the “Imdodia Society”, “the Spiritual Board of the Tashkent Russian Jewish Society”, “the Roman Catholic Charitable Society”, and the “Tashkent Evangelical Lutheran Women's Charitable Society” and their activities in Central Asia.
