This scientific article provides a retrospective analysis of the features of the political processes that took place in Central Asian countries in the first period of independence – the transition period. The article presents thoughts on such issues as some aspects of the formation of national statehood in the countries of Central Asia, free from internal and external, destructive threats and influences, the essence of complex processes, the impact of reforms carried out in the states of the region on sustainable development.
