The article provides a critical analysis of publications about influence of the most common operation in otorhinolaryngology, adenotomy, on immunity; observes complications and negative consequences of this operation. Review of researches led to the conclusion that there are no conclusive proofs of negative effects of adenoidectomy on immune function. The main factor limiting the num- ber of surgical activity in adenoids is the risk of operating and postoperative complications.
