В данной статье научно исследуются историческое развитие и современные трансформационные процессы Бухарского золотошвейного искусства. Анализируются этапы становления золотошвейного дела — от статуса «дворцового искусства» в период эмирата до современного уровня промышленности и предпринимательства. В статье освещаются социальные изменения в отрасли, в частности, освоение женщинами этого ремесла, которое ранее считалось исключительно мужским, начиная с советского периода, и ведущая роль женщин в этой сфере сегодня.Центральную часть исследования занимает взаимосвязь между традиционным ручным трудом и современными компьютеризированными станками. На основе полевых наблюдений рассматривается деятельность ремесленников в таких регионах, как Галаасия и Гиждуван, влияние современных технологий на производительность труда, а также особенности международных заказов.
