TOPONYMS OF BUKHARA REGION WITH THE COMPONENT “OBOD”: Kilichev Bayramali Ergashovich Professor of the Department of Uzbek Linguistics and Journalistics Bukhara State University
Bukhara is one of the regions rich in historical toponyms. In this region more than a hundred toponyms with a history of several centuries. These toponyms use several toponymic lexical units. The toponymic component «obod» occupies a special place and position. The word «obod» is used in a number of regional toponymic groups. In terms of meaning, this word is used in such toponyms as village, street, mahalla, guzar, lake, collector.
