Based on the literature data, risk factors for surgical complications in ventral hernia repair, the need for intensive care and rehospitalization after repair were determined. The hypothesis that there is a relationship between the increased incidence of complications after ventral hernia repair and specific factors, including hernia size, BMI>35, concomitant bowel surgery, ASA class, age, gender and hernia repair method, was proven.
